14 passengers rescued from a murky boat in Antique

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) rescued at least 14 passengers aboard a distressed boat that encountered engine problems on Semirara Island in Antique on Tuesday, June 15.

In an incident report on Thursday, June 17, the PCG said passengers on their way to Barangay Dawis, Caluya, Antique, their boat Frince Zoey experienced engine problems.

The joint PCG Semirara and Caluya substation search and rescue teams, in collaboration with the Philippine National Police (PNP), the Municipal Office for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (MDRRMO) and the team of disaster response in Semirara, were able to locate and ensure the safe return of passengers.

No passengers or crew were injured during the incident.
