An Apex Legends fan decided to recreate the first part of Octane’s balisong legacy animations and it sure is an impressive sight.

Apex Legends’ various heirlooms are the rarest collectibles in the game, with hundreds of hours of gameplay required to eventually obtain one.

Those lucky enough to receive an Apex Legends heirloom are treated to awesome animations, like Octane flipping and spinning his gold-plated balisong or butterfly knife.

Now an Apex Legends player has perfectly recreated one of Octane’s heirloom balisong animations down to the specific hand movements.

Octane has one of the flashiest legacies in Apex Legends thanks to his gold-plated balisong knife that doubles as a boost.

Reddit user RingSound posted a side-by-side video of themselves performing the balisong trick against Octane’s in-game animation.

The part of the animation that RingSound recreated started by flipping the balisong, before spinning it around the thumb.

Next, RingSound swung the knife towards his little finger, spinning it around the finger several times before throwing the knife in the air and catching it before it hit the ground.

After catching it, RingSound performed a few more complex flips and rotations before completing the trick with the handles closed and the blade extended.

RingSound’s post sparked a positive reaction to Apex Legends subredditwith many users impressed with their skills on display.

Some reviewers have expressed concern about the number of times RingSound has injured themselves learning this trick, but they have assured them that it is just a practice balisong with a blunt edge.

While RingSound said a trick like this “is possible to do” with a real blade, it would be “incredibly difficult”.

Balisongs have grown in popularity lately, thanks to their appearances in popular games like Valorant and influencers like PewDiePie taking an interest in them.

However, those wishing to get involved in the balisong community should be sure to start slowly and only with dull practice blades to avoid injury.
