In a recent interview for CBR, Weisman said the new Gargoyles The series is designed for new fans and old fans of the franchise. “Nate and I agreed early on that we wanted this series to be an entry point for new fans, as well as a treat for old fans, so we’re reintroducing all concepts from scratch,” a- he explained. “We didn’t want the early issues to be solid exposition or flashbacks, so there are certain aspects that we skim over, acknowledging but not explaining, as they’re not immediately relevant to the ongoing story. But given enough problems, we’ll see all. And I hope there’s enough intriguing content in these early issues that readers [who are] new to the property will be hooked.”

Weisman added, “I collected ideas for Gargoyles non-stop since 1993. So, yes, some of them were ideas of way at the time. Some are only, say, a decade or two old. Some are new. It never ends. The Gargoyles The universe has always been rich in potential content.”

Gargoyles #1 features cover art by David Nakayama, Amanda Conner, Lucio Parrillo, Lesley “Leirix” Li, Tony Fleecs, and Trish Forster. The issue drops on December 7 from Dynamite Entertainment.
