Golden Kamuy might just get his own live-action adaptation

Golden Kamuy might just get his own live-action adaptation if a recent report turns out to be the case! Satoru Noda’s original manga series has been running on Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump magazine since 2014, and has since garnered a ton of fan following thanks to the release of its anime adaptation (which is set to release its fourth season later). late this year). But with the manga announcing that it will release its final chapters before the end of the month, there could well be another surprise release for the franchise in the works.

According to a new report spotted by Manga Mogura RE on Twitter, Golden Kamuy just might get its own live-action feature adaptation. Sadly, there are no other details provided with the report aside from the fact that it potentially exists, but with the manga ending in just a few weeks of this writing, that could be the window where a potential live-action feature film is announced. Just come close with a healthy dose of salt just in case.

Noda will be ending the original manga series with its final chapter, Chapter 314, on April 28 in Japan, and it would be a good time to announce a new live-action movie if there really was one in the works. . While many fans generally discourage the idea of live action on popular manga franchises, Golden Kamuy lends itself well to a potential adaptation of this type as it is not too far removed from the realm of reality. There are some over-the-top elements (that fans have seen in the anime), but it’s not too hard to imagine what a cast of real actors could do with the show.

If you prefer the animated version of the franchise, Season 4 of Golden Kamuy is currently scheduled to release in October as part of the fall 2022 anime schedule. There is no concrete release date yet for the new episodes, but if you wanted to catch up, you can now find the first three seasons to stream with Crunchyroll. They tease the upcoming fourth season as such:

“Separated from Sugimoto, Asirpa now travels to the Russian border, focused on finding out about herself and her father’s involvement with the coded tattoos. But Sugimoto is determined to find and protect Asirpa! Along the way , he will discover new people, new cultures rich in history and unforgiving terrain. Will Sugimoto and Asirpa survive their travels and reunite?
