HBO Max Titans shared the first look at the live-action season 4 Jinx.

Originally a Teen Titans villain, Jinx was created by Marv Wolfman and Chuck Patton and first appeared in 1986 Tales of the Teen Titans #56. A powerful witch, Jinx debuted as a supervillain but was eventually revamped for the Teen Titans animated series, which aired on Cartoon Network between 2003 and 2006. In the animated series, Jinx, voiced by Lauren Tom, has the power to curse her enemies with bad luck (also called probability manipulation) and appears as a member of evil HIVE Academy. However, towards the end of the series, Jinx inevitably switched sides and joined the Titans. The character would continue to appear in Cartoon Network The Teen Titans Go! in cameo.

Jinx’s live debut

It was announced in January that Ambalavanar would join the fourth season of Titans like Jinx with Joseph Morgan and Franka Potente, who will play Brother Blood and Mother Mayhem respectively. Titans also launched the first look at Morgan as the supervillain Brother Blood, with the costume design based on The New Teen Titans comics. Like Jinx, the character also appeared in animation Teen Titans series and went on to appear in the 2013 spin-off The Teen Titans Go! on Cartoon Network.

Filming for the upcoming season officially wrapped in September. While plot details for Season 4 remain scarce, Titus Welliver is set to appear as Superman villain Lex Luthor. In a recent interview, showrunner Greg Walker explained how the version of Lex Luthor that appears in Titans will challenge the titular heroes with his brand of villainy. According to Walker, the threat Luthor poses is largely psychological as one of the most famous DC Super Villains of all time. “He has a very sensitive and thoughtful approach to evil and power,” Walker said.

It was reported in February that Lex Luthor would appear in Season 4 of Titans, apparently “towards the beginning” of the new season, although he won’t become a regular character. Apparently Walker was more focused on making Luthor’s screentime “memorable” than anything else. Season 4 was announced during DC FanDome 2021 and is expected to be 13 episodes long.

The first three seasons of Titans are streaming now on HBO Max. Season 4 does not yet have a release date, but is expected to premiere on HBO Max in November.
