“How dare they?” Marvel Fans Stressed Over Character Removal From ‘Doctor Strange 2’ Trailer

In the very near future, the Marvel Multiverse will once again be unleashed in the new adventure, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022).

The Scott Derrickson Sequel strange doctor (2016) from director Sam Raimi and Michael Waldron looks set to wreak havoc with Benedict Cumberbatch (Dr. Stephen Strange/Doctor Strange) and Elizabeth Olsen (Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch) wielding sorcery like no Marvel movie has previously. Footage from the next film in Kevin Feige’s Marvel Cinematic Universe has been plentiful, but Marvel Studios is confusing fans after removing a character from the official trailer.

Following on from Tom Holland’s latest Spidey movie, Spider-Man: No Coming Home (2021), Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness finds Cumberbatch’s eponymous hero grappling with the aftermath of casting his universe-altering spell. Despite being tipped off by current Sorcerer Supreme Wong (Benedict Wong), Strange proceeded to bring the Multiverse to the Marvel Universe on screen in a way never seen before.

The notion of multiverse was approached in the work of Waldron and Kate Herron. Loki in June of last year. It was explored in more detail in the Canon animated series, What if…?, which really saw variants take over the MCU. In the strange doctor sequel, the fallout from Strange’s magic comes to the fore; the Marvel movie is set to bring in the Illuminati, Patrick Stewart but not as Professor Charles Xavier/Professor X, a variant of Tony Stark/Superior Iron Man (possibly with Tom Cruise), and potentially, the Fantastic debut MCU’s Oven with Reed Richards/M. Fantastic.

That’s not all. Several variations of Doctor Strange have been confirmed with Supreme Strange, Zombie Strange, Defender Strange, and Sinister Strange. The latter is apparently confirmed as the evil Doctor Strange in the feature film. Some Merchandise also recently revealed that a brand new character will be joining the film, which also sees the return of Karl Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor) and Dr. Christine Palmer (Rachel McAdams) and the debut of MCU newcomer Xochitl Gomez as America Chavez / Miss America.

But, while fans have seen all of these characters, including Shuma-Gorath/Gargantos’ cinematic debut, through various trailers and TV spots, it looks like Marvel Studios is still working on the movie even a month before its release. . The most recent trailer for the TV spot shows one scene completely removing a popular character, with fans speculating as to why they were removed.

A tweet from Doctor Strange 2 Updates (@DrStrangeUpdate) shows the differences between the shots in the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness:

The new #MultiverseOfMadness TV spot updated a previously posted outline, omitting a Christine Palmer variation.

The change came as a shock to fans who wonder why Marvel Studios made such a drastic change to the characters involved in this scene. Many comments have poured in, outraged that Marvel seems to be misdirecting the audience with Rachel McAdams’ removal from this specific scene. Others suggest it adds weight to the character being Clea.

It should be noted that trailers are often released while editing and post-production reshoots are still underway. Cumberbatch was opened on the state of the strange doctor movie, and reshoots are the norm at every movie studio, not just Marvel Studios – Kevin Feige was clear on that.

However, it is interesting that this Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness The TV spot completely omitted Christine Palmer from the footage. This could mean that the outcome for the character is not good after the order of events suggests that this scene takes place after Scarlet Witch unleashes her powers.
