Liotta was sixty-seven and died in his sleep while filming the next film, Dangerous waters in the Dominican Republic. The cause of Liotta’s death has yet to be announced, but there is no suspicion of foul play.

Liotta plays the abusive ex-husband to perfection; he was even nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the Golden Globes for this role.

This movie is one of the few times Liotta has played the “good guy” – Shoeless Joe Jackson – and it’s spectacular. Nostalgic and touching, field of dreams is just a feel-good movie.
