Maluma Joins Disney’s “Encanto” Voice Cast


Walt Disney Animation Studios welcomed Maluma to the Encanto voice casting. The popular Latino singer lends his voice to the idol of the city Mariano, the future fiancé of Isabela, the perfect and calm sister of Mirabel.

Juan Luis Londoño Arias, known to his fans as Maluma, was born and raised in Medellín, Colombia; the singer / songwriter / actor artist has crossed the American, Asian, Latin American, European and Middle Eastern markets, releasing six studio albums including his most recent, # 7DJ – Seven days in Jamaica. It has been recognized by the Latin GRAMMYS, the Billboard and Latin Billboard Awards, the VMA and MTV, among others. Next year, Maluma continues his acting career in Marry me, alongside Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson.

The vocal cast also includes Stephanie Beatriz as Mirabel; María Cecilia Botero as Mirabel’s grandmother, Alma alias Abuela; John Leguizamo in the role of Uncle Bruno de Mirabel; Angie Cepeda and Wilmer Valderrama as parents of Mirabel, Julieta and Agustín; and Diane Guererro and Jessica Darrow as sisters of Mirabel, Isabela and Luisa. Carolina Gaitán and Mauro Castillo as Mirabel’s aunt and uncle, Pepa and Félix also lend their voices; and Adassa, Rhenzy Feliz and Ravi Cabot-Conyers as cousins ​​of Mirabel Dolores, Camilo and Antonio, respectively.

Encanto contains brand new songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton, Moana) and is directed by Jared Bush (co-director Zootopia) and Byron Howard (Zootopia, Tangled), co-directed by Charise Castro Smith (screenwriter “The Death of Eva Sofia Valdez”), and produced by Yvett Merino, pga and Clark Spencer, pga Castro Smith and Bush are the film’s writers.
