A new 30 second PV trailer of characters from My master has no tail was released, featuring a glimpse of rakugo master Utaroku Ebisuya (voiced by Akira Ishida). Although he is filled with more gloom and smoke offstage, he is well known for his rich and expressive actions during his performances.
The anime series will premiere on September 30, 2022. character trailers for Mameda, Bunko Daikokutei, Shirara Tsubaki and Enshi Kirino were also released.

The anime is based on the “Taisho rakugo fantasy” manga series by TNSK, which was first published in Good! Afternoon Magazine on January 7, 2019. It is published under the Afternoon KC label and eight tankoubon volumes have been released in total so far.
The production team includes Hideyo Yamamoto (Cells in action! BLACK) as a director, Toko Machida (Pura Oré! Pride of Orange) as the series’ composer and one of the screenwriters, Haruka Yamauchi (Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress: The Battle of Unato co-sub character designer) as character designer, and Arte Refact’s Tsukasa Yatoki, Atsushi Haradaand Yuuki Honda as music composers. Liden Films takes care of the production of the animation.

Mameda is a tanuki who was born in the wrong era – all she wants is to fool humans, but those days of tanuki shenanigans are over. But a woman, a rakugo master named Bunko, shows Mameda that it’s still possible to cast magic on humans… only with words, not illusions.
