■ Outline Editor: Completely new functionality to provide top-down project visualization to aid project management!
Outline Editor, as the name suggests, is a built-in helper tool from RPG Maker Unite that users can use to turn their project into easy-to-understand nodes for better project management! In the development screenshot below, one can immediately see that the new feature works by linking various chapters and scenes from the opening to the end via different lines, essentially in an easily understandable flowchart!
In game development, it is very common to use some sort of spreadsheet to track progress, but using external software is still a tedious process as you have to switch between multiple software. But with RPG Maker Unite‘s Outline Editor, you can now track most things in one piece of software, as well as write notes on particular sections to list things to do!
– Connected game chapters and underlying sections to create an easy-to-understand flowchart.
As in the example screenshot above, by visualizing the entire project, users now have a better idea of where they left off and what they need to add. This would greatly help their thought process when making games!
Additionally, users can now assign corresponding maps to each node to quickly link the map editor to the map in the database. Users would no longer need to spend a lot of time just to find a map as the project grows, which increases work efficiency!
For starters, seeing your game take shape in a more understandable way would definitely make the development process smooth and fun too!
– Record predicted player level and jot down memos for each chapter.
By clicking on each node, users can still write level information or memos/to-do lists, all without relying on any other external tools or software!
—Easy to understand for personal use, also easy to share with others!
With RPG Maker Unite, we are looking to improve the usability of the engine better than before. Also, on the other hand, we believe that by removing some of the frustration points that are perceived as tedious for the user in game development, we could help reduce the number of times users end up abandoning projects. !
■ Introducing more default characters！
Last time we introduced the default characters of Miguel and Sharon. It’s time for two more!
The third default character is called Glorianos! A veteran warrior from a distant land to warn the outside of a mysterious disaster that afflicts his home. Glorianos is a mighty warrior whose weapon of choice is a great axe.
