Spy x Family’s Loid & Yor Get Live-Action Posters For Musical

The official site of Spy x Family announced the cast members and debut date for the manga’s upcoming musical adaptation.


As reported by Anime News Network, the website has released new visuals of Loid Forger and Yor Forger’s live-action counterparts. The musical cast two actors for each character: Win Morisaki and Hiroki Suzuki as Loid, and Fūka Yuzuki and Mirei Sasaki as Yor. As seen in the visuals, Loid is wearing a dashing suit and Yor is in an elegant outfit. Other cast members include Kurumu Okamiya and Tsubasa Takizawa as Yuri Briar, Nonoka Yamaguchi as Fiona Frost, Kento Kinouchi as Franky Franklin, Sōma Suzuki as Henry Henderson, and Manato Asaka as Sylvia Sherwood.

Counterfeiters take the stage

Announced in May 2022, the next Spy x Family the stage adaptation will run from March 8 to 29, 2023 at the Imperial Theater in Tokyo. After its Imperial Theater tour, the musical will tour nationwide at Hyogo Performing Arts Center Kobelco Grand Hall in April 2023 and Hakataza Theater in Fukuoka in May 2023. Currently, the musical is not scheduled to tour outside from Japan.

TOHO will produce and G2 will direct the Spy x Family production. Additionally, Shuhei Kamimura will be composing, arranging, and conducting the music. Despite recruiting most of the cast, the musical’s official announcement revealed that they are still looking for their live action Anya and will be holding auditions across Japan for the fan-favorite character. At the time of writing, Spy x Family has not officially confirmed who will portray Anya in the stage adaptation.

Tatsuya Endo Spy x Family the manga series began bi-weekly serialization in March 2019 on Shueisha’s Shōnen Jump + application and website. Since August 2022, Spy x Family has over 25 million copies in circulation. Due to its high popularity, CloverWorks and WIT Studio adapted the manga into an anime series, which first premiered on TV Tokyo and affiliated stations in April 2022. Crunchyroll aired the first half of the series.

The anime follows spymaster Twilight and her secret mission to adopt a child and get married. However, Twilight is unaware that her child is a telepath and his wife is an assassin. The complicated family eventually adopts a dog they aptly name Bond. Ahead of its second on-court premiere, TOHO Animation has released the series’ upcoming opening credits sequence on its YouTube channel. The rock group BUMP OF CHICKEN sings the opening, titled “SOUVENIR”.

Spy x Family will stream the second yard on Crunchyroll starting October 1.
