‘Star Wars’ Fans Are Hoping An Underrated Character Gets His Live-Action

The star wars shows on Disney Plus have delighted fans by bringing in characters from animated shows like The Clone Wars and rebels in live action. The Mandalorian brought Bo-Katan and Ahsoka Tano to life, while Boba Fett’s Book did the same for the grizzled bounty hunter Cad Bane.

It’s starting to look like a trend, so fans are wondering which other anime characters should make the jump. There are obvious candidates like Captain Rex and Admiral Thrawn (both of whom will likely appear in the Ahsoka solo show), but r/StarWars users are currently clamoring for another important The Clone Wars character to make a comeback: Barriss Offee.

Offee wouldn’t technically be making her live debut as she was featured in attack of the clones and can be seen in the Battle of Geonosis, but his character was greatly expanded in The Clone Wars.

Her arc saw her gradually become disillusioned with the Jedi Order due to her militaristic actions during the ongoing wars. This eventually led her to orchestrate a bombing of the Jedi Temple and attempt to frame Ahsoka for the crime. Offee was scolded by Anakin, put on trial, and quickly banished.

Offee’s ultimate fate is unknown, leaving tantalizing territory for a future show to explore. The posters theorize that her flirtation with the dark side and skill with the lightsaber could lead her to become an Imperial inquisitor hunting down the remaining Jedi.

Either way, a new story centered around an ancient Jedi that has both light and dark elements would be an interesting watch. So far, Disney and Lucasfilm have avoided stories involving “Grey Jedi,” but if they wanted to focus on just one, we agree that Barriss Offee is full of storytelling potential.
