The cheapest SIM-only deals from Sky, Three, Tesco Mobile and more

People across the UK are looking for ways to cut spending, from energy and fashion to food and technology, as the cost of living crisis continues to affect many households.

Moving Sky

Those on a budget and needing a smaller amount of data may be intrigued by Sky Mobile’s cheapest plan. For £6 a month you can get 2GB of data and unlimited texting and calling, plus any spare data carried over for up to three years.

Sky has 99% network coverage in the UK, meaning it’s a safe bet wherever you are in the country. If you’re looking to get more data per month, Sky offers 50GB for £25 per monthwhich includes the same benefits as the cheapest package.

Tesco-Mobile

Tesco has a range of SIM-only contracts and prices range from £7.50 to £30. The cheapest plan includes 2 GB of data, EU roaming and unlimited calls and texts.

Those with a Tesco Clubcard can also purchase the Unlimited plan at the discounted price of £17.50, down from the usual £30. The unlimited SIM card offers EU roaming, unlimited texting and calling, and unlimited data, meaning you’ll never have to go without an internet connection. This deal works on 4G and 5G networks.

Smarty

Smarty’s motto is “mobile simple and honest” and their SIM offers seem easy to understand and cheaper. The SIM company’s cheapest deal is capped at £6 a month and includes unlimited texting and calling and 4GB of data. However, it only costs £1 more to double your included data to 8GB (£7 total per month).

All Smarty plans include: 1 month plan, cancel anytime, unlimited calls and texts, fast 5G, 4G and 3G data, no credit checks, unlimited connection in the UK, no speed limit, international roaming. EU, and they offer SIM, Micro-SIM, and Nano-SIM sizes.

Smarty’s most expensive option costs £20 and offers both unlimited data and unlimited calls and texts.

Three’s cheapest plan is £6 a month

Three offers 18 SIM only plans, ranging from 1GB to unlimited and prices range between £6 per month and £28 per month. The cheapest deal offered by Three is a 24-month contract and costs £6 per month. The SIM card includes 1GB, unlimited texting and calling, personal hotspots, the ability to unlock free roaming privileges for 24 hours.

However, for those who want a cheaper SIM card but need more data, Three currently offers their 12 GB plan for £6 per month for the first six months, then £12 per month thereafter. Three’s unlimited data plan sells for £28 per month and is 5G-ready at no extra cost.

GiffGaff

SIM-only plans – or goodybags as GiffGaff calls them – allow you to benefit from flexibility and savings. All GiffGaff goodybags come with unlimited UK calls and texts and are 4G and 5G ready. the cheapest package available on the network is £6 per month, comes with 1GB of data and is contract-free. The next cheapest plan offers 3GB of data for £8, while the most expensive plan (called Always On) gets you unlimited data for £25 a month.

Until December 31, 2022, GiffGaff promise fixed prices in the UK. This applies to Pay as You Go fares, goodybags and all UK fares, but excludes international fares and roaming.

Lebara

Lebara offers 30-day and 12-month contracts to suit your needs. The SIM card provider is currently offering 10% off, meaning you can get their cheapest plan for £4.50 a month for 12 months, or £5 on the 30-day contract. This includes 3GB of data, 1000 UK minutes and SMS, 100 international minutes to 42 countries and is 5G ready.

For those who need unlimited data, you can get it through Lebara for £22.50 per month for 12 months, or £30 on the 30-day contract. This unlimited plan includes unlimited UK minutes and texts and unlimited international minutes to 42 countries.
