Walt Disney Animation Studios Celebrated 98th Anniversary With Special Video

Walt Disney Animation Studios recently celebrated their 98th anniversary by sharing a special video showcasing their wonderful works. The icing on the cake was the introduction of their latest project Encanto which marks the 60th animated feature film produced by the studio faithful.

The one-minute and 36-second video shows their journey from the start. It beautifully draws the curtains on their incredible legacy by presenting their upcoming film Encanto, the story of an extraordinary family, the Madrigals, who live hidden in the mountains of Colombia in a magical house, in a bustling city, in a wonderful and charming place called Encanto.

The legendary studio began operations on October 16, 1923. The video showcasing their works featured the title cards of their films as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Pinocchio, Fantasia, Dumbo, Bambi, Alice in Wonderland and much more.

The animated feature hits theaters on November 24, 2021.

Critical mind actor John Leguizamo lends his voice to Bruno, Mirabel’s uncle who has the gift of seeing the future. The vocal cast also includes Stephanie Beatriz as Mirabel; María Cecilia Botero as Mirabel’s grandmother, Alma, also known as Abuela; Angie Cepeda and Wilmer Valderrama as parents to Mirabel, Julieta and Agustín.

Diane Guererro and Jessica Darrow are there as sisters of Mirabel, Isabela and Luisa. Carolina Gaitán and Mauro Castillo as Mirabel’s aunt and uncle, Pepa and Félix also lend their voices; and Adassa, Rhenzy Feliz and Ravi Cabot-Conyers as cousins ​​of Mirabel Dolores, Camilo and Antonio, respectively.

The film features brand new songs from Lin-Manuel Miranda known for Hamilton and Moana. It is directed by Byron Howard (Zootopia, Tangled) and Jared Bush (co-director Zootopia) and co-directed by Charise Castro Smith, screenwriter of The death of Eva Sofia Valdez.

Encanto is produced by Clark Spencer and Yvett Merino. Bush and Castro Smith are the film’s writers.

The filmmakers were deeply inspired by their research trip to Colombia early in the development of Encanto as well as their ongoing work with a group of expert consultants gathered throughout the production of the film.

The new trailer immediately draws viewers into the vibrant magical world of Encanto, take you on the Mirabel journey. Each child received a unique magical gift — every child except Mirabel. But when the family home is threatened, Mirabel may be their only hope.
