Announcing a New Tomozaki Anime Lower Tier Character

A new video for the Lower level character Tomozaki the anime was posted on the series’ Twitter account on Friday. The video confirms that a new anime project is in the works, although the exact format of the series has yet to be announced.

The video features the character’s song “Colorful End Epilogue” along with footage from the anime’s first season released prior to the announcement.

At Yuki Yaku’s Lower level character Tomozaki The light novel series began serialization in 2016 under Shogakukan’s Gagaga Bunko imprint. The novels are illustrated by Fly and have amassed 9 volumes throughout the series. The light novel has inspired a manga adaptation, a manga spin-off, and an anime adaptation.

The manga adaptation was published in Square Enix’s Monthly Gangan Joker magazine from 2017 to 2021 and was illustrated by Eight Chida (Hanasaku Iroha, The girls go around), amassing 6 volumes during its run. the Minami Nanami wants to shine spin-off is currently running in Shogakukan’s Monthly Sunday Gene-X magazine and is illustrated by Bana Yoshida (I can’t change my mind about Mr. Yano!). The series began serialization in 2020 with 2 volumes released so far.

A 12-episode anime adaptation was released in the winter 2021 season, with 2 OVA episodes released in May and June 2021. Project No.9 (Higehiro, High school prodigies have it easy even in another world) hosted the series, with Shinsuke Yanagi (CHOYOYU!: High school prodigies have it easy even in another world!, And you thought there was never a girl online?) director, Fumihiko Shimo (Clannad ~After Story~, The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya) taking care of the screenplay, and Hiromi Mizutani (No No Biyori, Tanaka-kun is still apathetic) compose.

Yen Press publishes the light novel and Minami Nanami wants to shine spin-off in English, while Comikey distributes the manga adaptation digitally. Funimation streamed the anime as it aired alongside an English dub.
