A cosplayer has taken to Instagram to give Star Wars fans one more reason to want Asajj Ventress in the franchise’s live-action universe.
An Instagram cosplayer gave star wars fans get a glimpse of what fan-favorite character Asajj Ventress could look like in live-action. First introduced in Genndy Tartakovsky’s 2003 miniseries The Clone WarsAsajj Ventress has been an intimidating antagonistic force, wielding a dual lightsaber in star wars media for 20 years now. After the character was cut from early drafts in 2002 Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones in order to create a bigger role for Christopher Lee’s Count Dooku, Ventress was used as an evil Sith Lord in both Tartakovsky clone wars and the longest by Dave Filoni Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
What makes Ventress such a memorable villain comes both from her looks, gray-skinned, bald, and wielding two red lightsabers, as well as her ruthless, no-prisoners attitude in battle with many heroic characters. Even though Ventress has met death on several occasions, and in both animated iterations of clone warsfans clamored for more appearances of the character later star wars traditions. This led to the use of Ventress in comic books, expanded universe novels, and video games. But ultimately, with the star wars saga now existing in the form of numerous Disney+ live-action miniseries, fans are now waiting for the twin-bladed Sith lord to make an appearance in the flesh.
One such fan, cosplayer Gracie The Cosplay Lass, took to Instagram to give her co-workers star wars all the more reason for diehards to want Asajj Ventress in the franchise’s live-action universe. Gracie, photographed by Geo Leon, used a Sideshow Collectibles figure as the basis for a truly mesmerizing photo impersonating the Sith Lord in action with both lightsabers. The motive of the message appears to be to inspire fans to want Ventress to be canonized as part of the next stage of the star wars saga. Recent television developments on Disney+ have brought Clone Wars’ Ashoka Tano, played by Rosario Dawson, in The Mandalorian, and confirmed Boba Fett’s survival after being devoured by the Sarlacc, the latter having previously been depicted in Expanded Universe content. More importantly, a recent episode of Boba Fett’s Book revealed the presence of Cad Bane, another popular character from clone warsin this universe.
Dave Filoni’s desire to include Cad Bane in the live action star wars canon is probably the best indication that Asajj Ventress could be a possibility in other Disney+ miniseries.” And since Bane is Boba Fett the appearance came after years of fans pleading with the showrunners to make room for him on other shows like The Mandalorianmaybe the star wars The team may already have a plan in mind to integrate Ventress into the franchise’s larger story. So with even more Disney+ star wars upcoming series, taking place in many parts of the timeline, this cosplayer of Asajj Ventress could be a glimpse of a closer future for the star wars saga that each of us anticipates.
